With bullets of up to 165 grains there is not enough difference in the 308 Win and 30-06 Springfield to warrant an arguement. I prefer the 308 because it can be had in a short action rifle and the cartridges are lighter. Something to consider for a true tactical rifle. If you are just playing then it doesn't matter one way or the other.
