I like clover because it is perennial. And the deer like it too. Go with a variety used in pastures (Jumbo, Ladino, Alice). You could also mix in some grasses, but it is the clover they are really gonna eat. I like the idea of regular clover that you can buy at your local feed/farm store rather than the fancy mixes that cost an arm and a leg. I think you can get just as good results (or better) with less costs. With your amount of acres you may want to have different plots with different plants that grow at different times of year. Search the web for info (search: food plots, deer plots, etc.). There are some really good sights that can give u info on size, location, what to plant, etc. Don't forget to soil sample and add amendments as needed.
