How can this be? I would much rather sell alot of strings for a lower price than a few strings for an inflated price. Remember who your customers are, we all don't have the disposable money of some.
Can some one tell me how long it takes to make one string?
I can't tell you how long a set of strings and cable takes him, but it will vary depending on the bow and who's making them. Three hours or more would not be unusal. After you take into consideration his cost for string material, servings, jigs, tools, etc,., he's problably working for a bit over minimum wage. A guy doing an expert job deserves more then that for his service, in my opinion. I know what it takes for me to me a set and, there is no way I would do them at his price. He could double his price and it still wouldn't be "inflated". I'm sure a lot of his customers don't care if he gives them away, but I would almost be embarassed to pay such a low amount for his quality of work.
