At $3.00 a doz i'll cut my own and as for reasons as stated above as well ..and besides that you never can depend on getting them done when needed if you purchased the shafts whole,(uncut)...from another source.
I too use a small pipecutter works really well ..(Aluminum Arrows)
And as far as being worth the effort , too me yes it is ..
