Sense u wont be hunting deer with it the 243 isnt needed but will do better on windy days. Also with a 243 you get bullet weights from 55-105 grains. The 243's best varmint bullets range in the 70-80gr catagory. The 243 winchester is probly the best coyote/deer caliber.
