Ok here is my .02 cents that some would say not to do. I however have not had any problems with doing this. At a hardware store you can buy box blades that are curved similar to a gut hook to take any large amounts of glue off. After that for the cleaning process and further glue removal I will soak the arrows in acetone for about thirty seconds wipe, inspect, and repeat if needed. Some say that acetone will cause a carbon shaft to come apart but this has not ben my experience. On aluminum there should be no problems at all with the exception of the paint coming off.
