I've bowhunted lots of javilina, but never wild boar.
During my hunts out west in Arizona I've talked
to friends from California about shot placement
on large feral hogs. They told me quartering away
was the best angle to get at the vitals. If I remember
right, there is more bone covering the vitals on a
broadside shot than you think.
