Default RE: Proper Long term storage

I remember that thread Cayugad!

That's when I describing the difference between rust inhibitors & rust preventatives like Birchwood Casey Sheath.

Besides making the bore shine, Sheath does not leave a runny film like Breakfree CLP. It seems to bond/dry only hours after applying it. It works great in my centerfires & shotguns. I've been asked to test Lehigh Valley Lube in my MLs until further notice. It works good also, but Lehigh gets tacky after a few hours in the bore & my sabot/bullets are tough loading down the barrel with my ramrod/jag when I forget to alky swab it first.

When I re-order the Lehigh next time, it'll be only for patch lube and swabbing at the range... not for rifle storing. I'm going back to the Sheath.
