if you are just gonna use it for those animals listed the 22-250 will work just fine . as far as flat shooting that is a toss up depending on the ammo used , i would use 55 gr in 243 , and 40 gr 22-250 . the 243 will give you more use as a deer rifle and a varmit rifle. check out the .220 swift
