RE: Will Beatty Buck now be entered into P&Y?
He still had to draw the bow in the presence of that buck. I believe it's only a matter of time until P&Y removes the asterisks. I don't see why they are reluctant to change a let-off rule. I'm not a member so my opinion doesn't matter. As far as I'm concerned as long as you have to draw the bow when the animal is present it should be included. P&Y realized that they were falling by the wayside by continuing to limit the let-off because that's where archery is headed. Like I said it's their book they can do what they want but they will ultimately have to recognize that if they are to be considered the pre-eminent bowhunters organization they have to keep up with the times. If you think the bow that killed it somehow makes it inferior you are 100% wrong. As far as we know that is the largest deer ever killed with a bow and arrow and the book is supposed to be about the animal and not the hunter. I also believe he will enter it because he instantly becomes even more marketable as the P&Y world record holder and last I checked all the asterisk does is denote the bow used was above 65% let-off so it's still the P&Y world record. Whether entered or not we know who killed the deer and it's score.
