lonewolf.

I bought a 50 cal. Lyman Great Plain Hunter a few weeks back from Midsouth. When It arrived the barrel was coated with some sort of sticky film. A protectant I assume. It cleaned up nicely though. I spent a few days sighting it in and I have it putting them in a two inch circle at 50 yards. With 245 gr powerbelts and 75 grs of pyrodex. I posted earlier about the sighting in prosses. I bought a CVA powder flask thinking it had a 20 gr spout. Later I discovered it is a 15 grain spout. I thought I was loading 100 grains of powder when I was really shooting 75 grs. For those folks following my earlier posts I did get the Gun sighted in but failed to get into the woods and do any hunting. But I will be sure to take it afield next fall. I am not disapointed at all with my gun the fit and finish is excellent.
