Last spring I purchased an American Friction Cut-N-Paddle box call. It is a boat paddle style call. This call has won numerous awards so I figured it must sound good and I wasn't disappointed. The sounds this call makes is awesome, from soft calls to loud locating yelps. It has a Honduran mahogany bottom with a red cedar paddle and is signed and dated by callmaker Bruce Wurth. Paddle calls are a little longer than a regular box call so if size is a consideration, then you might want to look into a smaller box.
