lyman great plains hunter 50 cal.
I stayed up to 12 p.m. last night cleaning the gun this is what I found The GPR or hunter model seems the gun in factory completed and then sprayed with a walnut stain ,The stain was every where screws metal parts @ lock @ barrel. The metal to wood fit is good except for the steel butt center screw, that is not sitting in straight( a little off center). The gentleman who sold the gun did say it was new never shot, pick up from midsouth for $300.00 plus shipping ,gun total $312.00 .sold it for $225.00 with shipping
He did state he also has a 54cal. barrel 1 in 60 twist that he purchase as an extra barrel, that also was for sale.
My preference is shooting conical bullet when deer hunting that was the reason to choose the 50 cal.
What I also found was that when the hammer strikes the nipple the nipple center is not center of the Hammer I may have to call lyman about this @ see what they say.
The warranty card has never been filled out came with the gun that should help.
