I'am sorry if I offend any first nations people on this board but I agree with sawbill 100 %. Up here we have seen no regard towards the reproductive cycle of fish/game. ie: shooting moose cows in the spring that where about to drop calfs, placing gill nets across an entire spawing river/creek catching everything that tries to run it, etc... I have no problem with the first nations taking whatever to put food on the table or for relgious beliefs as long as it doesn't hurt the reproductive cycle and is for thier consumption/use only.
