I have been killing deer with hand loaded BT bullets for the last 6 years in .308,.270 and 30-30 out of a 16" contender. I have shot them from 20 yards out to 180 yards and have yet to recover a bullet but never lost a deer with them. These are great deer rounds but I wouldn't use them for anything bigger. I like partitions for elk and bear.
