Rem 700 a ballistic tip isnt meant to form a perfect mushroom,they are designed to violently explode expending all its energy inside the animal.They are not a controlled expansion bullet.IMO a deer isnt that hard to put down.Its just a matter of personal preference.Yeah sometimes it runs meat ,but they have never gone more than 40-50 yards even on marginal shots.Ill take a little meat loss if it means not losing the animal.
