Dumping the carcass by the road.
Went hunting Saturday and when I pulled into the litle parking spot right off the road, I imediately saw the skinned out, butchered ribcage and hyde of a deer. When I was leaving I walked over and took a closer look. it was a doe. It's possible it was there all week since doe day was a week before. There was most of a tag on a string hanging around it's neck which tells me that it wasn't checked. They take your tag when you check it. I saw an older guy dragging a nice 8 point buck out of the woods when I showed up late on opening day. He then pulled out a gambral and started walking toward the tree line, deer in tow. I thought it was a little odd but I was in a hurry to get out there myself. Later I thought more about it and realized that this meant he didn't check that deer either. I really do not like the way they dumped the carcass there at the edge of the parking area. I can understand that some people might not have a place to process the deer at home but it should definately be checked and the remains should absolutely never be dumped there on the side of the road.
Especially in easy sight of the road. This sort of stupidity can really damage the image of hunters. Had to get it off my chest. also want to get the oppinion of some other hunters. If you don't check the deer is that still poaching even if you use a tag on it?
