I'm up the coast north of San Diego. I don't think it's a bad place to live, but then you couldn't get me to New York to save my life so what do I know.

There's hunting east of SD, deer, bird, predator. I think there's some decent stuff out there if you find it. The fishing of the SoCal coast can be pretty good and San Clemente Island is right there; it's a target for a lot of the party boats. The weather out here is unsurpassed, although if you're used to snow and having the seasons change you may miss that.

All in all, keep an open mind and I think you'll have a good time.
