Lately I've seen them as high as $1500.

Thankfully I found a semi reasonable one.

More than I would have paid two years ago.


But low enough I could justify the purchase and don't feel terrible about it.

I won't lose money on the deal if I ever decide to sell it.

I'm not planning on it. This will be a regular Ohio rifle for me.

I've now used shotguns, smooth and rifled, .44mag and .45-70 marlins, .375 Winchester in Savage 99, muzzleloaders, ARs in .450 bushmaster and bolt actions in .350 legend.


I've spent a lot of money to decide the marlin .45-70 is my preferred "straight wall only" option.

This rifle will be set up exactly how I like it and will be my main Ohio tool moving forward. It'll get plenty of use elsewhere as well. Especially for PA Bear.
