Exactly what do you consider heavy? That Strike Eagle is over 23oz. There are several Vipers under 23oz. You can get a Razor HD LH 3x15 for well under a grand and its a far nicer scope. The Strike Eagle does not even have the XR coating you can get on the Diamondback HP or Tactical line. The Viper HS 4x16x44 is 5oz lighter and can be found for $500 or less almost anywhere. The 4x16x50 for around $600 and its still lighter than the Strike Eagle.

The bargain in the Vortex lineup are the DiamondBack 3x12x42 HPs. XD/XR glass, side focus and only $200 shipped at Sportmans Warehouse.
