They sure have come a long way bronk.

And I still see lots of people in Ohio hunting with smoothbore 870s, 500s and single shots. Which I just can't understand when there's so many other good, and cheap, options out there.

Their main reason is "I'm not paying $3 per slug to shoot them rifled barrel slugs"

nobody, at least very few, are shooting high volume slugs anyway!

I still carry a beat up old mossy 500 smoothbore occasionally when I'm on thick drives, just for giggles mainly.
