New bullet
Yesterday I cast some bullets from my Lee 90373 mold. It is designated as a .457"-340 gr flat point bullet and cast a pure lead bullet with an average weight of 359 gr.
After casting I pan lubed with a homemade lube of 45% beeswax, 45% Crisco and 10 percent heavy mineral oil then sized them down to .451". As a check, I drilled one out a bit and installed a 3" deck screw. After tapping it into the bore with my ball starter and pulling it back out I found that the rifling was nicely engraved into the bullet.
I'm thinking these will be really good shooters based on the way Ed Mehlig's 350 gr HPs shot. (cast weight of about 370 gr). Range results to follow (hopefully later today)
