What to do when a big buck may have moved to another area?
I am hunting in an area that a couple months ago was the frequent location of 2 or 3 smaller bucks and one big buck. I mean we have found three rubs on trees that as big as my thigh. So we know he is or was around towards the end of bow season. Deer still eat my corn and apple pile but I have yet to see a buck from my stand. They' re are maybe 50 rubs and several scrapes within 100 yards of my stand and its in the thick woods. Gun season is a week old and the deer are in rut. Maybe this buck has changed his patterns due to my presence in the woods. i have a feeling he will be a real trophy and what can I do to increase my chances. I am going to try midday hunting from say 10-2 or 3. I have never sat in a stand all day but if thats what it will take I will try it. I just need some help from you experienced deer hunters who have dealt with this before.
