I'm not sure if this has been addressed on this post or not but I have a question about this. Wouldn't a round ball in a sabot be less accurate than a patched round ball in a slow twist barrel? Seems to me that the sabot would act more like a conical which we know are not as accurate as a patched ball in a slow twist. Without actually experimenting with these that would be my guess.
