Well, if you're talking flintlocks,

I don't know what necessarily constitutes the meaning of "better" for stalking. I guess if it were dependent on the weight of the gun, the PA carbine is better but it's not my most accurate. If it is an issue of wanting to carry a more accurate rifle, I believe my trusty Ol' .50 Renegade flinter is one of the most accurate while still not being too heavy.
My .54 Renegade flinter with the GM 1:70 twist roundball barrel is very accurate but too damn heavy to spend the day carrying. The Firestorm flinter is a relatively light gun and I'll carry that when the weather's bad but it's not as accurate as the Renegade .50.
I rarely shoot or hunt with my T/C Hawken .45 flinter anymore. It was my first flintlock, purchased in 1976 and I've pretty much retired it to the gun safe. I have another .54 Renegade flinter that the bore is kinda rough on and while the accuracy isn't horrible, it's not the greatest. I trust it out to 50 yards or so and use that for a loaner in case a newbie wants to hunt with us.
I'd love to have a custom rifle but I just can't justify the cost, they won't kill a deer any deader than anything I currently have. I guess my .50 Renegade flinter is my "go to" gun for most hunting situations.
