In area 3J you can hunt Minnewaska State Park. I took a 7 pointer on Monday there and we know there is a 4 pointer still running round there. You have to hunt deep, we were at least 1.25 miles from the parking lot.
For next year, check out the N.Y. watershed web site, they are letting hunters deer hunt on the water supply land. All you have to do is apply for the access permits and hunting permit - no cost.
