I've read (never hunted them) that many coues deer hunters use larger power binoculars (usually 15X) from a tripod to scan entire hills and ranges very carefully before trying to stalk an animal. It's definitely a different kind of hunting but seems to be very effective for many of the more successful outfitters and guides. What distances are you guys normally scouting?
