In that area we do both bow and gun.
Also I would have a tendency to agree with the public land thing first come first serve. The only problem is(of course the guy wasn' t there) but I had actually stumbled across the area that he hunts and it really looked like he had been putting in some time in the area, developing shooting lanes and building up blind where he sits.
