Default Had A Problem Knocking Hogs Dead

All the blinds that i shoot wild hogs from are at the edge of the woods or in the woods. Got to knock them dead or they are gone out of sight. i shot two 250 pound boars recently and both ran off. Both shots were near the end of legal shooting light. i don't go stumbling around looking for wounded hogs at night.

Those hogs were found the following mornings. One was hit in both lungs and made it 150 yards to the creek before expiring. The other was was hit through one lung and the bullet nicked the heart. Hog was located about 90 yards from where it was shot.
Both were shot with the 250 grain SST bullet.

My Encore and the excellent .452 300 grain XTP magnum bullet knocks hogs DRT with boring regularity. But i wanted to use hard cast bullets.

Gun: .54 Fire Hawk
Scope: Grand Slam
Sabot: Red
Cap: CCI magnum #11
Powder: 100 grains Black MZ
Bullet: .452 330 grain hard cast.

Put the target at 50 yards. The zero of the gun was not changed. It will still be dead on with patched round ball.

Minute of hog. i seldom get a shot longer than 50 yards.
