Quilly's right...it all depends on the weight and setup of the rifle. I've shot 30-30's that felt like a .22 mag and some that felt like a .450 Marlin. Same with the .270. I have a 1963 BSA .270 bolt action that will knock your fillings loose<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>. I've shot some A-bolts that didn't kick much at all. The key is to try them out and shoot what's comfortable.
