When the primer is fired it swells slightly in the bolt face or NFPJ adapter. The is very little clearance between the primer and bolt or adapter even unfired.

The most clearance is at the front of the primer. If you can hook something like a dental pic IN the fired primer, you might be able to pull the primer out.
