Rut? what rut? Saw very little in the way of rutting activity here is SE PA. The bucks didn' t even bother to make scrapes. In fact, the best rutting activity I saw was being done by button bucks! Seriously though, very subdued here. Perhaps the rut is just kicking in. If thats the case, rifle season will be a slaughter. If I remember Ashenhimer' s predictions for this year, he said it would be a strong rut. Therefore, I say his predictions were off base.
