Before I start I must tell you that I have both a 7 Rem Mag and a 300 Win Mag(among others).It depends on the bullet weights you want to shoot.For instance,I view my 7 Mag as a light bullet,long range deer rifle and shoot 140's in it. My 300 is used as a heavier bullet rifle for elk and moose and I shoot 200 gr Grand Slams in it.Will the 300 shoot 140's?,nope,but it will shoot 165's as fast and as flat as the 7 Mag shoots 140's but you'll pay with recoil.Will the 7 Mag shoot 200's at 2950 to 3000?,nope.See my point? And if 200's aren't enough I'll use the 338 Win Mag with 250's,job done.
