No, that's not what was used. Regular 405gr aerotip. Steve from Steve's Outdoor also shot a record grizzly with one. Bang-flop. All on film.

Somewhere in these posts someone says he shoots bull elk with 338gr Platinum, and they perform well.


btw Jon used a 250gr Aerolite. A different bullet than the one tested here, and the one with the biggest hollow point meant to expand easily with normal loads. Hogslayer used the 300gr Areolite, and it blew up a shoulder, and passed through his deer. Yet, in Ron't test it would pancake.

PB's got their bad rep from guys using the light bullets with hollow points, heavy loads of powder, and shooting at close range. Exactly what PB tells you not to do. Even at that most of the complaints were no blood trails, but the deer was dead.
