Yeah, it's a good bullet unless the muzzle velocity is too high. At velocities over about 1,800 fps the bullet can fragment. When i got back into muzzleloading in 1999 i used the 240 grain .430 XTP bullet with 130-150 grains of Pyrodex RS. Deer hit in the heart/lung area routinely bang flopped. Sometimes the off side of the body cavity looked like it was sprayed with shotgun pellets.
One day i messed up and shot a big doe in the shoulder at about 25 yards. At the shot there was a spray of blood and gore and i saw the shoulder bone exposed. Took me a long time to find and dispatch that deer. Immediately reduced my powder charges: No more problems.
