I understand why you would want to re-use the bases you already own, but you may be limiting your choices to the point that you will be passing on some good deals that would make up for the cost of changing them.

And if you can afford a Sako, put a decent scope on it.

I was thinking the same thing if he has a Sako!!! I was also thinking that there is no way anyone would get close enough to any of my rifles or other equipment in that type of a situation to cause something like that in the first place.
