I misinterpreted the post also - when you say "don't knock package guns, I love mine, although I took off the package part," then I read it exactly how Topgun did.

There's no difference in the package guns and their base model rifles, they just come with cheap stocks and scopes.

The point of Sheridan and I's posts was that the scopes aren't worth owning on the rifle they come on, so why buy it? Kachok's post supported that.

The sarcasm might have been implied, but it was thinly so, as it wasn't readily available at the surface.

But the point remains - the package deals really don't come with scopes that earn their position on the rifle.
