I find 2 major benefits to the AR platform.

#1 Follow-up shots

#2 Quicker sling carrying (just roll-up)

I use mine when still hunting predators......................missed a few opportunities with my gun slung over my shoulder.

NoMercy - Are those two "earth tone" handguards from Midwest Industries ?
