Choke tubes probably won't be a problem if you take them out and clean them too everytime you clean the shotgun. I would think 25 yards would be possible with a cylinder bore gun. The best thing is to get a roll of wide paper and shoot different loads.
Try different combinations of wads, shot, and powder.
