Default RE: 7mm Rem Mag vs. 30-06

I agree with the guys on this one. There is not much of a difference between the 7mm Rem Mag and the .30-06, when used on game, to tell the difference. In certain " specific cases" either have an advantage or two over the other! And I most certainly agree with eldeguello...if you have either a .270 Winchester or the .308 Winchester and you really want to increase your utility on " big game" go with a good medium bore. Any of the three eldeguello mentioned would make a great addition. The .338 Win Mag is more popular than the .340 Weatherby, much less expensive, far easier to find ammo, comes in a wider selection of rifles, and is easier on the shoulder. But of course the .340 Weatherby has both more velocity and more energy. Either of them shoot a little flatter than the .375 H&H. What the .375 H&H does better than either of the other is throw a bullet of larger diameter and makes a better " stopper" with dangerous game. It is a world standard in all parts of the world where either large and/or dangerous game can be found. All three cartridges are truly great " medium bores" .
