Long range often intrigued me but I just never had the $$ to pursue it properly with the right equipment even though I've taken several animals in the 300 - 500 yard mark. All with a Rem 700 in .270 Win and 130 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips.
I acquired that name chasin bear hounds in my youth, use to be said if ya wanna know where he is, look somewhere between the bear and the first few dogs, but since `1981 or so I have been ate up with shooting extended distances, have taken a handful of deer beyond 1000 yards, 2 beyond 1200, just something I decided many years ago to learn to do, not easy for a backwoods hick, so if I can do it, anyone can.
