Yeah, I' ve played around with one quite a bit. Ever since I saw one of the early Primos videos showing a couple kids using one...

It' s got to be early season. Around here, in Southeastern Missouri/Illinois, it' s almost too late to use by October 1st. I' ve had very good luck in pulling does in with them before the season starts (July or so), but later than that -- again, for our area -- the fawns are bigger and they aren' t producing the maternal instinct from their mothers that they did when they were babies.

In regards to using a distress call to lure away a tending buck, I saw that suggestion on the other thread, but didn' t say anything. In my opinion, based on these findings, that simply wouldn' t work. It' s too late in the season.
