From what I understand...
Early part of season is best for the fawn distress call but it will make any doe who comes very nervous and edgy. She will probably just string so aim a couple inches high.

I had recommended earlier on another thread that someone might use the fawn distress to bring in both a doe and her tending buck because where she goes / he goes. Although I have not tried it yet.
