A 10' bamboo would weigh a ton, so I have to go to graphite. Probably a Hardy to keep in the spirit of this type of fishing.
graphite is nice. There is a ST. CROIX factory with a store in it not far from me. I picked up a nice graphite rod for my open face Shimano reel. I swear you can feel the lure roll over rocks its so sensitive. And since I have friends that work there... they got me a discount. I think the rod was around $100.00 but its worth every nickel.
