Savage rifles are kinda like yankee, country girls... they're much better in the hands than they are on the eyes but their "function for the dollar spent" make them worth the effort!
They'll never win any beauty contests and their finishes are typical of the cheap mfgrs but they shoot mighty danged good! I've had a ML10ii smokeless mzldr for over a decade now and I wouldn't have another smokepole. Same goes for my plain jane wood, blued 22-250 (mdl 10?) it'll part the hair on a gnats rear at 200yds.
You buy a Savage to put holes in things (besides your wallet), not to brag about or look at!
