You could try to file the notch deeper in the rear sight if you have enough metal.

Before you do anything. Do you have your hunting load all worked out? No sense messing with sights until you have the load you want. It doesn't matter if it shoots high when you're developing a load. As long as it groups good you can move the sights later.
