All I can say is I've never lost a bird. I try to set up so shots are about 25 yds, but I've shot a few past 35 yds and they fold up like the closer ones. I have not patterned the gun for a long time. At least 10 years ago I shot a couple #5s at 20 yds to make sure it was on left to right and called it good.
