I have a Mossberg 835 with a 24" barrel and the truglo turkey sights on it, with a extra full carlsons ported choke. for me that is a perfect gun for turkey hunting. some guys like the longer barrels to "reach out" for the farther shots or to keep the pattern a little tighter at a certain distance. Its all preference. But I think a turkey gun is supposed to be either pump/semi, shorter barrel, xfull choke, and the fiber optic turkey sights. IMO. I have used that gun for years now and haven't missed any turkeys yet from 5 yards to about 45-50 yards is farthest. Make sure your ammo is the right ammo for your gun to. that's the biggest part for getting that beard hanging on your wall!.
