Hunting in suburbia you see a lot of strange things with deer. I' ve been perched up in a tree with good background cover, cover in front, the wind right and have a deer suddenly become unglued and do an about face and take off. I' ve also sat in a tree and watched the same deer in the same woods bed 15 yards from someones lawn and watch the guy rake leaves, kids playing, dogs in the yard.. all kinds of distractions.... and the deer just lays there and watches it all. The next minute I' ve watched a friend climb down from a tree 150 yards away and the deer bolts in the other direction like he was on fire. Go figure. My best suburbia deer story is the 6 point that lay outside our ground level sun room(glass all around,...floor to ceiling) while I watched the world series. I got up and went in the kitchen to get a coke. When I came back onto the sunporch I could see something on the lawn with the little light shining through the windows from a small table lamp. I flipped on the out door floods and there is a 6 point just laying there chewing his cud at 10PM not more than 15 feet from me. I turned the light off, called my wife, turned the floods back on and he' s still there. He was still there 30 minutes later. When the game ended I turned on the light and he' d gotten up and moved to my bird feeder for some seeds.
