I used to use call, but found that just sitting still for 10 minutes at a time does the best for me.
I have timed it, and the average time for squirrels to start moving is 7 minutes.
It's hard to find them early in the season with the leaves still on the trees.
Carry a good pair of binoculars, You will see a ton more squirrels.
I always wondered where they all went when I see them, then close enough to shoot, then couldn't find them.
Then I carried a pair of binoculars, and wow they are masters at hiding.
